Post factum:
We were
informed during this competition by Mr. HEM Thon, who is General Secretary of
Khmer Amateur Swimming Federation, that actually – this Championship was
organized by Ministry of Education, Youth & Sport only, without KASF. Same
time, we have seen that at least 2 or 3 coaches from KASF were working at the Meet
as officials, so this reason, we have decided that this meeting was organized
jointly by the Ministry and KASF.

This year, Cambodian National Swimming Championship, Long Course, which is traditionally in this country organized by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport with some assistance from Khmer Amateur Swimming Federation will be held in Phnom Penh Olympic Stadium, in only one 50 m standard size swimming pool available in Cambodia right now, from 1st June to 5th June. Warm up will start at 2 pm daily, and main competition will be held every day 3-5 p.m. Please be noted, that organizers may frequently change time of competition in last moment without any prior notice! As this swimming pool is without roof (the roof is just at seats area, but not at swimming pool), and right now, almost every day we have heavy rain in Phnom Penh in evenings, competition also, can be postponed, because of thunderstorms. This is sad reality, what swimmers face in Cambodia, unfortunately. Aquatics Cambodia provides free hotline support for its readers: you can call (no sms please!) at HP: 855-60-200382 every day 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. on 31 May – 6 June, to know recent news about Cambodian National Swimming Championship updates and schedule changes, if any. In this competition, only Cambodian nationals can participate. Enrolment theoretically, by clubs, but in practice, organizers just put swimmers, from National Sport Center in Olympic Stadium, which are 90 % of all participating swimmers, into several, non-existed in reality clubs!!! This is actually, a funny situation, when our Royal Sport Club Nautilus swimmer Chamraen Youri, every year put, by organizers, into different club, like club Mekong, or another non-existing in reality club! Actually, all of these swimmers, are training together, in Olympic Stadium, with National Team, or Olympic Reserve Squad, with same coaches, but, every year, in this country, organizers, put them to swim for non-existed in reality clubs. We proposed already, many times, since 2009, that if, only 2-4 clubs somehow are existed, in Cambodia only, like our Royal Sport Club Nautilus, swimming club of one British International School in Phnom Penh, called ICAN, and few other clubs, so, why not, just to make several teams, from other swimmers, who are training in Olympic Stadium, and who are not, members of any clubs??? But, all of our proposals, just go to nowhere, unfortunately. Also, we have proposed, few times, to let participate, in this competition, foreign swimmers, of course as exhibition swimming (means that cannot be awarded with medal and cash prize), to make this meet more competitive, as among 70-80 total swimmers participating, only 15-20 are somehow ready, to compete in such competition as country National Championship! But, Alas! This our proposal, is also, is not accepted, by organizers, as they prefer to do everything, with their own way. (Actually, our proposals were told before, to three KASF managers, as Mr. HEM Thon - KASF Gen. Secretary, Mr. HEM Kiry - National Team Coach & one more HEM - Mr. HEM Chanly - KASF Vice-President but it seems that they might not inform about them, the relevant people from the Ministry who organized this Championship)
Participation in this competition is free, also, no
any fees, for spectators. Same time, be noted, that every time, when you come
to Olympic Stadium, you have to pass, two block-posts, at two existing
entrances, where uniformed staff, ask to pay, for entrance to the stadium,
especially if you come by car… Nobody actually know, who are they and where this
money go to… One version, what we heard, that stadium actually was leased, to
an unidentified company, so now, this company installed that two block-posts
and charge people for entrance into stadium. Usually, athletes who are training
there as members of National teams do not pay as have special ID cards, as well
as technical staff and coaches, also, usually, participants and spectators too,
do not pay, for entry to the stadium, for major sport events held there. So, be
smart and tell to the check-points staff, that you are going to see Cambodian
National Swimming Championship, and, there is a chance, that you will be not
charged there. Do not forget, to bring with you umbrella, or rain-coat, and
plenty of water. Leave your tuxedo at home: it is very hot and humid at stadium
in this period of year, and also – this stadium is not the most clean, in this
region, so the best uniform what can be wear – shorts, t-shirt made from
natural material and slippers! You would see that some local officials, come
with suits and ties, but it is their choice and besides - they may need, to follow local
protocol, to do announcements and make medals presentation to winners and, anyway, they have VIP section with clean seats and fans, so, somehow can be seated there in suits for several hours, but for others, it would be not so easy, to be in suits for several hours in hot and humid weather, so better to wear light clothes.
We wonder, every year, what choice, of competing distances,
will be chosen, as just a half, of available 17 distances, organizers of this
competition choose, every year, to compete!
This year, for competition of the Group A - Members of National Team (actually, there were just 3 age groups, in this championships before, but specifically, for this year, organizers have decided to make just 2 groups, Group A - Members of National Team, with most advanced swimmers, and Group B - with all others, without selection by age), the
following distances available:
-
100 free
-
200 free
-
100 back
-
100 breast
-
200 breast
-
200 IM
-
100 fly
Nobody can understand, why, no any 50 m distance, is
available!!!??? Especially, as because of lack of training, local swimmers mainly
swim in international events, only distances 50 m!!!??? And, in upcoming, World
Championship LC in Spain, Cambodian swimmers based inside the country, will
swim only distances 50 m, such as 50 free and 50 breast, in 4th Asian Indoor Games
SC in Korea this year, also, 50 m distances - 50 free and 50 fly, so, very logically, it would be,
good, and even – essential, needed and obligatory – to organize competition,
at least for 50 m freestyle, during local meet, prior to international
competitions, to test, local athletes, but…. But…. Local organizers, have every
time, their original, point of view, what is very different, from the point of
view, of coaches and swimming specialists, from other countries….
So, there are only 7 individual distances will be
available, to swim at this competition, but, actually, only 5 of them, can be
chosen, by 1 swimmer, so, during one competing day, swimmer can swim 1 or 2
distances only, total only 5 individual distances. Plus, it may be organizing
couple of relays.
Unfortunately, as there is no electronic timing and
just maximum 1 timekeeper per lane only available, all times are not eligible,
for National Records, according FINA rules.
For first 1-3 places, medals and some cash prizes 12-40
USD usually given, sometimes also, a souvenir such as a tower or swimming
attire for 1st place and flowers.
Theoretically, also, has to be given trophy, and cash
prize to the best club, but, in reality nobody knows, how, and for what, every time,
same trophy goes into the same hands, as
no any open statistics available. We struggle, every time, to obtain, official
results, from this competition, sometimes can receive it, only after 6 months,
and just partial results and only in Khmer language. This reason, we are
unable, to send results from Cambodian National Championships, to FINA and International
Swimming Statistics Association, as they ask us to do, because we simply, do
not have them, as local organizers, do not care, to distribute such results,
after Cambodian Championship.
Anyway, despite all obstacles and problems with
organizing – usually this swimming championship brings a lot of fun, to young local
swimmers, who come, for training, in very poor conditions, to only one
available, very old swimming pool, and, want to compete, want to participate, want
to win, want to have fun, want to show, what they can do – please come, see,
and support them!!!

Entertainment and gaming sector leaders NagaWorld will sponsor
off-the-field apparel for the entire Cambodian contingent during the
forthcoming 27th SEA Games in Myanmar opening on December 11.
“This grand sporting alliance between NagaWorld and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia is another giant step forward, building on our 2011 SEA Games partnership when the biennial games were last held in Indonesia,” executive director of NagaWorld Pern Chen told the Post yesterday.
The sponsorship this year will include outfitting the entire Cambodian squad, including the coaches and officials, with attire and competitive wear such as T-shirts, polo shirts, shorts, tracksuits, backpacks and caps.
Popular sportswear brand Football Thailand (FBT) has been chosen by both NagaWorld and NOCC as the suppliers of the outfits.
“Sport has been NagaWorld’s pivot when it comes to corporate social responsibility and I am proud to enlist here our sustained support not only for the country’s prime sports body NOCC but also to other federations like tennis and rugby,” added Pern Chen.
NagaWorld introduced an attractive cash incentive scheme – Go For Gold – to encourage and reward good performances during the Indonesian edition two years ago and this unique offer has been extended to the Myanmar Games.
Go for Gold offers individual gold medallists $3,000 and a gold medal winning team $5,000.
Cambodia secured the country’s biggest ever medals tally of four gold, 11 silver and 24 bronze medals in Indonesia.
“Our contingent will be bigger than last time and we are targeting at least 10 gold medals. We are confident our athletes will put up better performances this time,” NOCC Secretary General Vath Chamroeun told the Post.
“The NOCC is pleased to have NagaWorld as its main partner. It worked well in Indonesia and I hope it will be a lot better in Myanmar.”

Congratulations, Chamraen! Well done!!!
Swimmers who finished at 2nd and 3rd place, swam with time 1:01.45 sec & 1:05.45 sec - so the gap between winner of the 1st place Chamraen and swimmer who took 2nd place is 2.41 sec, what is really big gap for such distance.
Day by Day News from Cambodian National
Swimming Championship 2013
Day
1, 01 June 2013:
Breaking News:
1 Place & Gold Medal in Distance 100 m Freestyle,
Men – Chamraen Youri,
17 years old, Royal Sport Club “Nautilus”, with PBT – 59.04 sec! He improved
his personal best for 0.17 sec from the time 59.21sec, what he previously made
at 3rd K-Cement Swim Cup in Phnom Penh in October 2011, where he was
2nd (about times improving, it will be analyses after this meet, so you will know, what problems athletes have with improving their personal best and how, local swimmers struggle to improve their perfomance).
Now, Chamraen Youri became number one at 100 freestyle, and became two times Cambodian Champion on this distance, which is among his favourites. Cambodian LC (50 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 58.05 sec, made by Tan Bunthay long time ago, in 1974, in Asian Games in Iran, where he was number 9 in prelims. Cambodian SC (25 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 1:01.27 sec belongs to Chamraen Youri which he made in May 2010 at DTAC ISB Annual Splash Meet in Bangkok, Thailand, where he won Silver Medal. Nobody among Cambodian swimmers incl. Chamraen Youri swam this distance after 2010 at Short Course meets, this why, this time is quite outdated. Very Unfortunately, Gen. Secretary of KASF Mr. Hem Thon, has not consulted with us for distances selection, and he has selected for Chamraen Youri 50 fly as 2nd available distance to swim in upcoming swim meet SC in Korea (4th Asian Indoor Games), but if, he would select 100 free for example, for sure, Chamraen would improve, Cambodian National Record for 100 m freestyle SC! It is very important, to select right distance, for the swimmer, where he can get the best result, for him and for his team and his country...

1 Place & Gold Medal in Distance 100 m Breaststroke,
Men – HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, National Training Center. We are not aware of his
time right now, as unfortunately, there are no time results yet distributing by
organizers.
Day 2, 02 June 2013:
1 Place & Gold Medal in Distance 200 m Breastroke,
Men – HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, National Training Center. Ponloeu right now is best
breaststroker inside the kingdom, what he showed again, comfortably winning
both breaststroke distances available at this competition. 2nd
leading breaststroker in the country – Chamraen Youri, did not participate this
time on these distances, as he choose to compete on 100 & 200 freestyle, 100
backstroke, 200 IM and 100 fly distances only (there is limit 5 distances per 1
swimmer).
Both female events on the first two days of the
championship – 100 free and 100 breast were dominated by HEMTHON Vitiny, 19
years old, National Training Center.
Right now, during two days of competition we enjoyed
good weather in Phnom Penh, it was cloudy and not so hot, as usual, today it
was small rain also, which has stopped before competition, so there were no any
problems with weather for participants.
We were unable, unfortunately, to obtain entries info for the 1st day of the Meet, but for the 2nd day, we could find such info, from one official, who gave it to us, just for few minutes, so we could make photos and now - share it below with everybody. It is in Khmer language. There is no any info in English language available, unfortunately...
Day 3, 03 June 2013:
1 Place & Gold Medal in Distance 100 m Fly – Chamraen Youri, 17 years old, Royal Sport Club “Nautilus”, with PBT - Personal Best Time 1:05.67!!! Now, Chamraen Youri became number one at 100 fly, and became two times Cambodian Champion on this distance. Cambodian LC (50 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 1:05.12 sec belongs to Chhay Kheng NHEM which he made long time ago in 1972, in Olympic Games in Western Germany, where he was number 7 in his heat. Cambodian SC (25 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 1:00.37 sec, made by HEM Kiry quite long time ago, in Mar 2000, in 5th FINA World Championships SC in Greece, where he was number 31 in prelims. Chamraen Youri PBT is near National Record for this distance, the difference is 0.55 sec. Hopefully, if he will be allowed by KASF Gen secretary Mr. HEM Thon, to swim this distance in an international meet with proper timing according FINA standards, maybe, he can break National Record in the next couple of years!
2 Place & Silver Medal was won by HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, National Training Center with time 1:10.19 sec. (actually later, organizers corrected his time as 1:09.99 sec.). Third place athlete swam with time 1:12.92. Chamraen swam faster for 4.32 sec than 2nd place swimmer HEMTHON Ponloeu, which is huge gap, for such a distance. Also, for the first time, in his swimming career, Chamraen obtained Mark A, for the distance 100 m Fly Long Course Age Group 17-18 Boys, according USA Age Groups Motivational Times Chart, what is good sign, that he became more progressing, at fly, with becaming older. Actually, his best swimming styles are freestyle (where he had AA marks in some distances, like 50, 100 & 200 m freestyle) and breast, also, he improved a lot, backstroke.
1 Place & Gold Medal in Distance 200 m Freestyle – Chamraen Youri, 17 years old, Royal Sport Club “Nautilus”, with PBT - Personal Best Time 2:14.71 sec!!! Now, Chamraen Youri became number one at 200 freestyle, and became three times Cambodian Champion on this distance, which is among his favourites! Cambodian LC (50 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 2:06.56 sec, made by Tan Bunthay long time ago, in Sep 1974, in Asian Games in Iran, where he became number 8 in finals! Unfortunately, this Khmer swimmer's achievement, to come into final of Asian Games, became forgotten, in his motherland, even Khmer Amateur Swimming Federation officials remember nothing, about it now, and this is really pity... Our Aquatics Cambodia Web-Resource's Editor-in-Chief H.E. Mr. Vladimir Maximov worked very hard, to discover this made many years ago and became forgotten, Khmer swimmer's achievement and now, with his efforts, Tan Bunthay time for this distance became listed as Cambodian LC (50 m swimming pool) National Record FINA version for 200 Freestyle! Cambodian SC (25 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 2:13.98 sec belongs to Chamraen Youri which he made in May 2010 at DTAC ISB Annual Splash Meet in Bangkok, Thailand, where he won 3rd Place Trophy.
2 Place & Silver Medal was won by HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, National Training Center with time 2:18.40 sec. (what actually, became later corrected by organizers as 2:19.51 sec).
The gap between Winner of Gold Medal Chamraen and Winner of Silver Medal HEMTHON Ponloeu is 4.80 sec, what is very big gap, for such a distance. Very ironically, the Winner of all freestyle distances incl. this 200 m freestyle distance at this Championship, Chamraen Youri, 17 years old, was not selected, to represent Cambodia, at 50 m freesyle distance at upcoming World Swimming Championship Long Course 2013 in July, and he stays at home, as Mr. HEM Thon - General Secretary of local swimming federation, prefered to pick up his own son HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, who was the 2nd among Cambodian swimmers after Chamraen Youri at distance 50 m free, with big gap between their achieved times and places at last World Championship Short Course 2012 in Turkey (see full info at:
http://aquaticscambodia.blogspot.com/2012/12/breaking-news-new-cambodian-national.html), and here, in Cambodian National Championship, became also, the 2nd after Chamraen Youri, at distance freestyle 200 m with gap more than 4 sec, but, once again - HEMTHON Ponloeu will represent Cambodia at 50 m freestyle distance at World Championship 2013! And his father Hem Thon everywhere in interview tells now, that it was the best selection choice, he done, to choose "the best swimmers in the country" to represent Cambodia, as "no other Cambodian swimmers compare to them"!!!
Day 4, 04 June 2013:
1 Place & Gold Medal in Distance 100 m Backstroke, Men – Chamraen Youri, 17 years old, Royal Sport Club “Nautilus" with time 1:14.25 sec. Now, Chamraen Youri became number one at 100 back, and became two times Cambodian Champion on this distance. It's worse than his PBT 1:10.52 sec which he made in Sep 2011 during Cambodia National Team trials where he also won 1st place that time. Cambodian LC (50 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 1:07.26 sec, made by Sarun VAN long time ago, in 1972, in Olympic Games in Western Germany, where he was number 7 in his heat. Cambodian SC (25 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 1:12.98 sec belongs to Chamraen Youri which he made in May 2010 at DTAC ISB Annual Splash Meet in Bangkok, Thailand, where he won Trophy for 3rd place.
Day 5, 05 June 2013:
And his father Hem Thon everywhere in interview tells now, that it was the best selection choice, he done, to choose "the best swimmers in the country" to represent Cambodia, as "no other Cambodian swimmers compare to them"!!!
Day 4, 04 June 2013:

have more information right now about his name, age etc.), with time 1:15.10 sec. 3 Place swimmer has finished with time 1:16.60 sec.
The gap between Gold Medal Winner Chamraen and 2nd place swimmer Tol is 0.75 sec.
The gap between Gold Medal Winner Chamraen and 2nd place swimmer Tol is 0.75 sec.
Day 5, 05 June 2013:
Because of thunderstorm in the final day of the Meet,
competition and award ceremony was postponed for 1 hour.
Breaking News:
1 Place & Gold Medal in Distance 200 m IM - Individual Medley, Men – Chamraen Youri, 17 years old, Royal Sport Club “Nautilus”, with PBT - Personal Best Time 2:26.85 sec!!! He became Cambodian National Champion on this distance 200 IM for the first time, in his swimming career. National Record for this distance is 2:22.25 sec, made by HEM Kiry (who is brother of swimmer HEMTHON Ponloeu, uncle of swimmer HEMTHON Vitiny, brother of assistant of coach HEMTHON Lumpat and son of General Secretary of Khmer Amateur Swimming Federation & Director of Administration Dep-t of Cambodian National Olympic Committee HEM Thon), he is Cambodian National Team coach right now. It was made quite long time ago, in 1999, in SEA Games in Brunei. Cambodian SC (25 m swimming pool) National Record for this distance is 2:30.90 sec belongs to Chamraen Youri which he made in May 2010 at DTAC ISB Annual Splash Meet in Bangkok, Thailand, where he won Gold Medal.
Finally, in this Championship Chamraen Youri won total 5 Gold Medals + 1 Silver Medal for Relay 4X100m Freestyle with 4 PBT - Personal Best Times!
2 Place & Silver Medal was won by HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, National Training Center with time 2:29.91 sec.
It was really, very fierce competition, between Chamraen Youri, 17 years old and HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, at this distance, and it became, the best swimming competition, at this Championship, at its final day, as, people could see, all 4 strokes - fly, backstroke, breast and freestyle, perfomed by the two best male swimmers right now, inside the kingdom, and it was really, a big intrigue - would HEMTHON Ponloeu, 23 years old, win this distance, from Chamraen Youri, 17 years old, what he did several times before, al local swimming meets, using his advantage, at breastroke, and, of course, 6 years of age difference, or, Chamraen Youri, who already, won 4 gold medals here, compare to HEMTHON Ponloeu's 2 gold and 2 silver, and who won already, two distances, 200 Free and 100 Fly, from HEMTHON Ponloeu, in direct competition, at this Championship, would fight, against all odds, against all unfair things, done to him, by local swimming federation officials, who very unfair denied for him place in National Team to participate at this year at World Championship LC in Spain, and will try, to win, this last distance, swimming at this Championship, and would become, the absolute winner, of all gold medals available, at this National Championship 2013!? The start: Chamraen was the best among all others, winning precious sm and milliseconds of advantage. From the first metres of swim, Chamraen Youri, ran fast, trying to win, sm by sm, at that strokes, where he already won gold medals, before here - fly and back and fully using his good technical skills, which he obtained during 3 years heavy training in Indonesia in 2006-2009 with prominent Indonesian and US coaches. He was clearly first at fly, and kept his advantage during backstroke too, so before breast stroke, Chamraen was a half of meter ahead of his main competitor Ponloeu. HEMTHON Ponloeu (who visibly became tired, after unexpectedly too fast, start of this distance by Chamraen and fast swimming of fly and back strokes - that first 100 m of 200 m IM distance), tried to keep gap between him and Chamraen, not too big, so he could, try to catch up during breast stroke, where he is still, the best male swimmer, among Cambodians inside the country. When they started, to swim 3rd stroke - breast, the distance between leading Chamraen and Ponloeu became smaller and smaller but Chamraen could keep, his fast movement, and did not let Ponloeu, to win from him, a significant quantity of sm and milliseconds, so, in the end of breast stroke, both swimmers were almost at same position, and, it was still, very unclear, who would win this became so tight and interesting race!!! They kept, their paritet, almost all next 10 m of freestyle, but after, Chamraen Youri, once again, showed his superiority at freestyle stroke, becoming slowly, but surely, winning sm by sm, millisecond by millisecond, from HEMTHON Ponloeu, who could not make his finish as fast as Chamraen did. At last 25-20 m, of the distance, Chamraen became finishing so fast, that the distance between two swimmers became visibly wider and wider and all people at the stadium understood, that Chamraen would win for sure this race with big gap, between him and 2nd place swimmer Ponloeu, and this difference became 3.06 sec!

Please see two

Also, as we already have been witnessing, for many years, in this country, not only local Khmer sport reporters, but also, local expatriates who work for mass-media here, simply do not know, even basic facts and information, about sports they write about, in particular swimming sport: they just put in, into their articles, the facts and info, what they receive, from local sport officials, without even, simple checking, and, in many cases, just write nonsense, and, what is really, look very funny, even respectful local newspapers published in English language and owned by expatriates, such as Phnom Penh Post & Cambodia Daily, just publish such articles, without checking the facts and figures by sport or section editors. Last year, in both English language newspapers, were written wrong data, about Cambodian National Record LC Men 50 Freestyle: of course, it was very funny, that even record holder, Mr. Hem Kiry, who is currently Cambodian National Team Coach, do not remember, properly his own record time, date and venue, and he has provided the wrong data, for his own!! still valid record! Later, he told, that actually, his father, Mr. Hem Thon, who is Sec. General of local swimming federation and same time - Director of Adm. Dep-t of Cambodian NOC, has told to him, that wrong data. Another funny story, was written in Phnom Penh Newspaper, before SEA Games 2009, in Laos, where it was written, that father of the youngest National Team swimmer Chamraen Youri, that time 13 years old, works as official in Cambodian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, and this nonsense was published too!!! Just few days ago, in local Khmer newspaper, called Koh Santepheap Daily, was published an article, where was written, that two Cambodian swimmers - Hemthon Ponloeu and Hemthon Vitiny are frequently selected (actually, selection every time done by by their father Hem Thon, not through qualification meet!!!) to go to international swim meets, in particular - upcoming FINA World Swimming Championship Long Course, because there are no any swimmers in Cambodia as good as they are! Come on! This is not truth at all, as for example, at this last Cambodian Championship, swimmer Chamraen Youri won 5 distances, including both freestyle distances, and swimmer Hemthon Ponloeu won only 2 distances, and in other three distances was number two (where Chamraen was number one). In last World Championship SC in Turkey in 2012, Chamraen, that time aged 16 years only, won his heat at distance 50 m freestyle with really excellent time 25.85 sec, improving his PBT for 1.18 sec and set up New Cambodian National Record for SC (see details at: http://aquaticscambodia.blogspot.com/2012/12/breaking-news-new-cambodian-national.html) and was at 114 place in prelims among total 155 and Hemthon Ponloeu, 23 years, was 5th in his heat at same distance with time 26.22 sec and was at 125 place in prelims (difference between Chamraen and Ponloeu was 9 points by place and 0.37 sec by time, what is considered very big gap, in this distance) . But, despite all his achievements, and even simple fact, that Chamraen Youri speaks Spanish language and besides, he is the youngest among all swimmers and fastest at short freestyle distances what he showed many times already, winning many medals and trophies not only in Cambodia, but also, at prestigious meets in Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia as well, he was not selected to participate, in World Championship 2013 in Spain, and, in local mass media, already for the 2nd time, we see article, that simply tells a lie!!! We will return, to the subject of this actually - very unfair, so called "selection" of the swimmers, to represent Cambodia in World Championship 2013 in our Magazine's Special Issue, which is now under preparation, and will reveal to our readers, about some well documented facts, which local swimming federation officials prefer just to hide, and which actually, surprised all swimming specialists, from Singapore, Bulgaria, Turkey, Indonesia, Australia and some countries more, to whom we were speaking about.
Also, we already proposed, to Cambodian NOC, to organize, a simple training course, for mass-media, that will help, somehow, local sport reporters, to write more accurate articles, in the future, and at least, not put wrong times, dates and names data. We will see, if this our advice, will be put into action, one day.

And, you can see also, that these results are in Khmer language only...
Actually, in the 1st day of the Championship, on 1st of June, I personally sent Request Letter by email, to the Coach of National Swimming Team Mr. HEM Kiry and Cc to his father Mr. HEM Thon - General Secretary of Khmer Amateur Swimming Federation with the following text:
From: Royal Sport Club Nautilus <royalsportclub8@yahoo.com>
Subject: URGENT! Camb. Swm Championship 2013 Daily Updates for Results
To Mr. Hem Kiry –
Camb. Nat. Swim Team Coach
Cc Mr Hem Thon – Gen.
Sec. KASF, Adm. Dep-t Director NOCC
Dear Mr. Hem Kiry,
Many people - both from abroad and within Cambodia have
asked me about Cambodian National Swimming Championship 2013.
I have provided, info,
what I had, about swimming distances, dates, time and some specifications of
this event in Cambodia, in my announcement about this event, made in two languages
and sent to more than 200 people and organizations and put in some spots as well
as in my magazine.
But people keep asking
me, what is the program, what are results for 1st day, etc. Some
even wanted to come to Phnom Penh, from Siemreap, Kep and Sihanoukville, especially
to see, this Championship, but, they would like to know, program, entries, so,
they could see, what day, to come.
I think, if you would
like to make swimming sport, more popular, in Cambodia, and also – tell the
people worldwide about developing of swimming sport, here – it would be very
good, if you could share with me, information, daily, about results, at least times
and swimmers names for the first three places in every event, so I could inform
all interested people, via my magazine, as well as in that local two newspapers
and radio station what also interested, in this competition and contact me
daily to ask questions, but I can’t answer them, as not have such info.
You can send me email
or sms or call every day in convenient time for you. So, I can inform people
accordingly.
Thanks and Regards,

1st June 2013
Unfortunately, I haven't received, any reply, from above mentioned KASF offcials, till the present date, of 19 of June (actually, there were never any reply from that persons at my several emails sent to them in 2012-2013 so, I was not so wondering, not to receive any answer again). Later, after the Competition, in the evening of 13 of June, I sent sms, at mobile phone of Mr. Hem Kiry, with request, to send to me Results of Cambodian Swimming Championship 2013, soft copy, in English or, in French, ASAP. Not just because of the reason, that we wanted, to share these results, with all of interested people, but also, as to answer, to request from International Swimming Statistics Federation, as every year, already, since 3 years ago, I receive request, from this International Swimming Body, to send to them, results of Cambodian National Championship! And, this year, as well, I have got, such a request, what actually, officials from local swimming federation, must to take care about, as this is their obligation, to send such a statistics, as Cambodian National Championship Results and Cambodian National Swimming Records, to the relevant autorities, in FINA and its statistics structure, but, Alas! I was told, that nobody from Khmer Amateur Swimming Federation, ever answered, to their numerous requests, for such a statistics, so, several years ago, when they have noticed, in international swimming database, Royal Sport Club "Nautilus" from Phnom Penh, which successfully took part in 4 big international swimming meets in 2009-2010 and since the end of last year, Aquatics Cambodia Sport Magazine appeared online, where for the first time, in Cambodian history of aquatics sport we started to write, on weekly basis, about many aspects, of swimming sport in Cambodia, in English language - we became receive News Letter from FINA, some useful info from International Swimming Statistics Federation together with some requests, to tell to the swimming world, about what is going on, in Cambodian swimming sport, in particular, to share some info and statistics about local meets. My sms was delivered, to Mr. Hem Kiry mobile phone, but, he has not answered it. On next day, I took my time again, to call, and speak, with him. He told to me, that he has got my sms, but not received my email (which was actually sent, at his all provided three! email adresses). We had long telephone conversation, to speak actually, not only about proper making results data of local championship, but also - local practice, to send swimmers to competitions abroad, without qualifications meets, just by selection, of Mr. Hem Thon - Gen. Sec. of KASF, and other related subjects. I was told, by Mr. Hem Kiry, that "he has visited many countries and aware about international practice in swimming sport", but unfortunately, I have not received, the proper answer, for any of my very simple questions, one of them - when it will be proper statistics available, in English or French, as not all people in FINA know Khmer language, and when such a statistics will be done, in proper international standard format.
However, whatever - at least we have got, a hard copy, of the Results Data, in Khmer language, for which we took our time, to scan, and upload, so you can see it below online.
